La paramyxo ou la maladie de Newcastle est l’infection virale la plus répandue chez les pigeons. On a l’obligation de déclarer cette maladie très contagieuse. Surtout les pigeons qui muent et aussi des pigeonneaux épuisés et retardés sont sensibles. Des pigeons non ou mal vaccinés courent un grand risque.

Curatif (= en cas de maladie):
RIEN (= obligation de déclarer)
On peut compenser la perte de liquide et la déshydratation en administrant FORTALYT dans l’eau de boisson
Préventif:
Vaccination 1 x par an de tous les pigeons sains d’au minimum 4 semaines de vie

En Belgique la vaccination est obligatoire pour tous les pigeons voyageurs et les pigeons d’agrémentSources : ‘Oropharma’
